Everything you need to know about the starry rom-com, ‘Guiding Stars’
Once the season of spook takes a backseat, the season of romantic comedies takes centre stage, and Netflix is already busy preparing for what’s to come with its newest entry, Guiding Stars, starring Jared Padalecki and Leighton Meester.
Premiering in November, the holiday rom-com was originally announced a year ago, without a title, but the names attached were enough to skyrocket fans’ anticipation.
Now that the film has taken shape with a confirmed cast, a unique storyline, and an official release window, enthusiasm will be twice as much.

What is the plot?
Guiding Stars is an upcoming rom-com following Hannah Brooks, a steadfast executive protection agent recovering from a recent romantic fallout and her mother’s death, when her Houston-based security firm tasks her with an unusual job: guarding Hollywood’s hotshot Jack Stapleton.
Once a fan-favourite action star, Jack has now officially sought refuge at his family’s Montana ranch after a massive scandal. The reason for hiring Hannah? To protect him from a stalker. But so that his sick mother doesn’t get a hunch, he wants her to pose as his girlfriend instead of a bodyguard.
As she takes on the unlikely assignment, she must balance her professional duties while keeping up appearances for Jack’s family. But when the threat escalates, she’s forced to choose whether to keep her heart in check or risk it all for someone who no longer seems simply like a client.
Who is in the cast and crew?
Jared Padalecki stars as Jack Stapleton, while Leighton Meester plays Hannah Brooks in the romantic comedy. Andie MacDowell, Toby Sandeman, Siobhan Williams, Noah LaLonde, Rachel Ancheril, Ava Max, Phil Brooks, and Walker Hayes appear in Guiding Stars in yet-undisclosed roles.
Meanwhile, CM Punk as Doghuse, Zoe Kosovic as Clementine, William Kosovic as Young Drew, Giles Panton as Jesse, Ryan Mah as Avram, Greg Lawson as Glen and Annabel Beams as Cowgirl round out the cast.
Elizabeth Allen Rosenbaum has directed the film, adapted from author Katherine Center’s 2022 novel. Grant Scharbo, Richard Keith, and Erin Cardillo serve as co-writers. Gina Matthews produces through Little Engine Productions, with Genevieve Padalecki, Readymade Productions and Tremblant Productions also listed as producers.
