Hart is set to take centre stage in the upcoming Netflix heist comedy Lift. Hart, who has successfully ventured into streaming with Netflix in recent years, has signed a deal to produce and star in four movies for the platform.
Directed by F. Gary Gray, the guy behind action-packed hits like Straight Outta Compton and The Fate of the Furious, Lift promises to be a high-octane, globetrotting adventure. The plot unfolds as Hart’s character, Cyrus Whitaker, is persuaded by his ex-girlfriend, now working for the FBI, to orchestrate an impossible heist. The target? A 777 passenger flight from London to Zurich carrying a staggering $500 million in gold. The twist lies in the international crew assembled for this audacious adventure. Despite the heist happening mid-air, the film also involves a good deal of globetrotting for that added glitz.

Netflix has scheduled the release of Lift for January 12th, 2024, exclusively on the streaming platform. Initially slated for August 25th, 2023, the film’s release was postponed due to the impact of the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike.
