Netflix subscribers can expect a fun May. From the highly anticipated Bridgerton season three finally arriving to plenty of exciting docuseries, there is a lot to go around.
Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar arrives on Netflix on May 1st, marking Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s streaming debut. This eight-part series is based on stories from the real Heeramandi, a district in pre-partition India’s Lahore. It explores the lives of tawaifs and their involvement in the freedom movement. With Bhansali’s signature style and grandiosity, Heeramandi promises to be a captivating exploration of history and culture with a glamorous twist.
For fans of mystery and intrigue, Bodkin premieres on May 9th. It introduces viewers to the seemingly idyllic small town in Ireland where several mysterious disappearances have occurred. Led by a motley crew of podcasters portrayed by Will Forte, Siobhán Cullen, and Robyn Cara, the series promises to unravel the dark secrets lurking beneath the town’s surface.
Another highlight of the month is the much-anticipated third season of Bridgerton, which will focus on the romance between Penelope and Colin. Building on the success of the previous seasons, this instalment of the hit period drama promises to deliver more scandal, intrigue, and romance as the Bridgerton family navigates the complexities of high society in an anachronistic Regency-era London.
Then, at the end of May, we will have Eric, a unique series starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Vincent, a grief-stricken father whose son goes missing. Convinced that his son’s drawings of a blue monster puppet named Eric hold the key to his disappearance, Vincent forms an unlikely bond with the titular monster under his son’s bed. As Vincent tries to get Eric on TV in hopes of finding his son, the series is set to give yet another memorable Cumberbatch performance.
In addition to these standout series, Netflix subscribers can look forward to a diverse range of content, including documentaries like Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult and Cooking Up Murder: Uncovering the Story of César Román.
