Get ready for an exciting week of entertainment on Netflix as June 2023 brings a diverse lineup of new series, mostly intriguing documentaries, and films.
Last week saw two major releases, Black Mirror season six and Extraction 2. The biggest release of this week will be the Kim Cattrall and Miss Benny-starrer Glamorous. We will not have to wait and watch for long to see if it is as good a guilty pleasure as Ugly Betty, Sex and the City and their kind.
Kicking off on June 19th, Take Care of Maya, is a documentary based on shocking real-life incidents. The IMDb blurb reads: “As a medical team tries to understand 10-year-old Maya Kowalski’s rare illness, they begin to question her parents. Suddenly, Maya is in state custody – despite a family desperate to bring their daughter home.”
Also arriving this week is the heartwarming animated adventure Not Quite Narwhal, which is bound to keep the kids happy.
On June 20th, arrives the freestyle comedy event feature, 85 South: Ghetto Legends, with comics DC Young Fly, Karlous Miller and Chico Bean.
Continuing the excitement on June 21st, the tennis documentary Break Point returns for its season one second part, while The UnXplained with William Shatner unveils even more mind-bending mysteries in its second season. The show is described by Netflix, “In this investigative docuseries, scientists and historians delve into strange and mysterious phenomena that have intrigued humanity for centuries.”
The week continues with captivating offerings including Glamorous, Let’s Get Divorced, Skull Island, and Sleeping Dog.
