Every film and series leaving Netflix this week: August 2023

This week, Netflix bids farewell to another line-up of films and series. So, before these films and series vanish from the streaming platform, set aside some time to revisit your favourites or discover hidden gems you might have missed.

From classic favourites to modern hits, the list includes a variety of genres and themes.

Among the standout departures are movies such as Born on the Fourth of July (1989), a powerful anti-war drama starring Tom Cruise as a Vietnam War veteran struggling with the aftermath of his service. Additionally, Skyfall (2012), the action-packed James Bond adventure starring Daniel Craig, and The Pursuit of Happyness (2006), starring Will Smith, are also on the chopping block.

For those who love animated classics, films like Dr Seuss’ The Cat in the Hat (2003) and Hotel Transylvania (2012) will be leaving too, along with The Croods (2013), which takes viewers on a prehistoric adventure. Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir (seasons one to five), the popular animated series, also leaves the platform in August.

You can catch up on fantasy-action films like Underworld (2003), about the age-old war between vampires and werewolves, and G.I. Joe: Retaliation (2013), a high-octane adventure featuring elite soldiers fighting against a global threat before their departure this week.

Even David Fincher’s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008), starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett, is leaving Netflix this week. And that’s not all.
