Every film and series coming to Netflix in July 2024
With every week, new titles appear on Netflix, from popular shows and movies to brand new slices of entertainment made exclusively for the platform.
This week, several new seasons of beloved series, like Elite and The Dragon Prince will be available on the streaming service. The former is a hugely popular Spanish series which explores the murderous clash between working-class students and the ‘elite’ at a private school. Since airing in 2018, it has proved to be one of Netflix’s biggest foreign-language titles. Season eight will be available from July 26th onwards.
The German dark comedy thriller Kleo will also return for a second season on July 25th, which follows Jella Haase’s former assassin, Kleo Straub, who seeks revenge following her false imprisonment. The series, set in the late ’80s, was praised by many, including Stephen King, when it aired in 2022.
If you want to travel a bit further back in time, The Decameron, which also airs on July 25th, might be for you. The show is set in the 14th-century and takes loose inspiration from the short story collection of the same name written by Giovanni Boccaccio in 1353.
Describing the show, which is set during a pandemic, creator Kathleen Jordan explained, “When at times of crisis, the chasm between the haves and the have-nots grows wider and wider.” If you liked the sex appeal of Bridgerton, it sounds like The Decameron goes way further into erotic territory.
The streaming service has created a docuseries that is sure to spark the interest of any music fans or ‘90s kids. Dirty Pop: The Boy Band Scam explores the career of Lou Pearlman, who formed the Backstreet Boys and NSYNC before leaving millions in debt and committing various other financial crimes.
If you’d prefer to watch a crime-themed drama, Tokyo Swindlers, which joins Netflix on July 25th, might be worth checking out. You can also watch The Man From U.N.C.L.E. from July 27th, the 2015 film inspired by the classic ‘60s show of the same name. Directed by Guy Ritchie, Henry Cavill stars in the leading role.
