David Lynch to begin work on new Netflix project ‘Wisteria’

Acclaimed director David Lynch is set to begin production work on a new project for Netflix entitled Wisteria.

The exciting news was first brought to the surface by Lynch’s fan site Welcome to Twin Peaks who revealed that the revelation was let slip in the latest issue of the industry trade magazine Production Weekly. It is believed that Lynch will write and direct the project, which currently has the working title of Wisteria. It’s unknown when the project is set to arrive on the streaming giant but the trade publication states that filming for the series is scheduled to begin in May 2021 at Los Angeles’ Calvert Studios.

They also state that Wisteria will be a limited episodic series, similar to current hit show The Queen’s Gambit.
Lynch first worked with Netflix earlier this year when he brought his short film What Did Jack Do? to the platform and now he seems to have taken his relationship with the streaming site to the next level.

Meanwhile, The David Lynch Foundation recently revealed details of an upcoming virtual concert entitled Meditate America on December 3rd. The event, which will be free for people, has seen Lynch pull in favours from some of his famous friends such as Elvis Costello, Katy Perry, Hugh Jackman and Kesha.

The aim of the foundation is to spread the message of Transcendental Meditation and how this can change the lives of adults as well as children across the globe. The concert plans to benefit efforts in training and educate those most in need of meditating, hence why Lynch isn’t charging a fee for the event.
