David Harbour "fu**ing hated" the 'Stranger Things' dog

Despite a certain few disturbing moments and some monstrous creature designs, Stranger Things is above all a fairly family-friendly show, featuring some of cinema’s finest and most admired actors.

Following the adventures of a group of friends dealing with the struggles of growing up whilst under the shadow of their town’s supernatural forces, Stranger Things has helped to kickstart the careers of several child stars, including Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin and Gaten Matarazzo.

Having always reflected a dark, cosmic side, Netflix’s iconic series Stranger Things is set to ramp things up in its upcoming fourth series according to star Sadie Sink. “There’s something about this season, it’s really intense,” Sink notes, echoing the comments of fellow co-star Finn Wolfhard, who also said earlier this year that season four would be “the darkest season that there’ll ever be”.

David Harbour’s Jim Hopper, thought to have been killed in the previous season, has also expressed his excitement for the upcoming season of the show, commenting: “[You will] see a lot of your favourite characters doing the thing that you love them for…but you’ll also see them twist it and turn it into other colours and other flavours”.

Harbour has also come out to speak of an unlikely nemesis of his on the set of the iconic show, Chester, the Byers family pet. He spoke of his dislike of the dog on the Youtube show ‘Hot Ones’, “I hated that fucking dog so bad,” he said. “Take after take, it would wander off or do something”.

The actor disliked the dog to such an extent that he even voiced his irritation to the dog’s trainer, stating: “I was like, ‘You know, the Byers should probably have that dog put to sleep next season”. Chester has since not been seen on Stranger Things, with Harbour jokingly commenting, “We never talk about it, the whole rest of the show…we should find it in the Upside Down in one of these future seasons”.
