'Cobra Kai' season 4 trailer has arrived

It may have seemed like a bit of a joke to those of us who caught the original Karate Kid on our screens, but the TV spin-off Cobra Kai is developing an equally robust legacy as its cinematic predecessor. Now, the series is entering its fourth season and things are hotting up once more.

Cobra Kai season four is set to hit Netflix on December 31st and will see Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) once again go head to head with their respective karate clubs. The full trailer for season four has now landed.

As we left season three, Johnny and Daniel were seemingly moving towards burying the decades-old hatchet in an attempt to unite their dojos. The unification of Eagle Fang and Miyagi-Do was somewhat forced in the face of John Kreese (Martin Kove) and his Cobra Kai dojo.

There’s a strong feeling that this season will see Daniel and Johnny break their unity as tension rises and the threat of Cobra Kai looms heavily over them. The students will also play a larger role in this season as Kreese attempts to poach fighters.

It would also appear that the show will be looking back to the much-maligned The Karate Kid III for its storyline. A risky move for any longstanding franchise, largely because it is so derided as the worst instalment. However, if one show can make the cheesy seem gourmet, it’s Cobra Kai.
