‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ to restart filming season eight in the “fairly near future”

Only a matter of hours after Netflix UK announced long-awaited news for fans that season seven was due to land on the platform on March 26th, creators of the show have released further good news.

Shooting was initially put on hold owing to COVID-19 restrictions, but following an announcement by Adam Samberg it appears that filming is once again imminent.

Speaking to LADbible Samberg stated: “We started shooting, then we shut back down. So we’re waiting to come back again,” Samberg said.

“It’s scheduled for the fairly near future for us to return. There are a few factors going on – the surge in the [COVID] numbers in Los Angeles is a big one.”

He added: “There is a continuity to the people and the stories and the set becomes its own organism and you don’t want to disrupt that. I think you can [lose a bit of rhythm], and we’ll find that out when we come back.”

The shows release date was also pushed back following last years extensive rewriting in light of the Black Live Matter movement.

As of yet there is no official date for when filming will actually restart but if this statement from the shows lead star is anything then things seem very promising.
