‘Beauty in Black’ season two, part one ending explained: Does Angel die?

Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black crushed it with a mix of murder, mayhem, and a lot of dynasty drama in the second season, although Netflix dropped just the first part.

The shocking mid-season finale left viewers scrambling for shelter with Kimmie, the former exotic dancer, making it crystal clear to the Bellarie family to keep the disrespect out of the door. As the new Mrs Bellarie and the Head Bellarie in Charge, she has plenty of things to set straight, including her ideas for taking Beauty in Black above and beyond in the haircare industry.

Beauty in Black’s second season picks up right after Kimmie’s marriage to her ex-client Horace, as she takes on the responsibility of the haircare empire as the COO. Despite his sons assuming the inheritance to be their birthright, Horace has grown exhausted with their prerogative and entitlement, as well as his former wife and brother.

But the haircare empire drama is just the tip of the iceberg in the first part of the second season. There’s quite a lot of bloodshed, sex, and unforeseen problems. So, in case you feel a bit foggy about how Beauty in Black left things off, here’s your ending explained to fill in the blanks.

What’s up with Kimmie?

Kimmie doesn’t waste time taking the Beauty in Black organisation by storm in the second season. Following the exchange of bedside nuptials, as Horace undergoes experimental cancer treatment in Italy, he tries to fill her in with expert advice, unaware she doesn’t need any. She has already been busy with her own research and has her ducks in a row to make this business bigger and better.

What happens to Mallory then?

With Mallory, the reigning HBIC of Beauty in Black officially dethroned, one thing is clear: she’s not going down without a fight. This transition won’t be easy for Kimmie, but Mallory’s feelings for her rival have layers. Crystle Stewart chimes in on Mallory’s opinion about Kimmie to Tudum, saying, “Mallory’s version of respect is complicated. She may never admit it out loud, but deep down, she’s starting to realise Kimmie isn’t the pushover she thought.” However, whether the respect leads to a team or even more cutthroat lock of horns is for viewers to find out.

What happens to Charles?

Charles is clearly not having his best time in Beauty in Black’s second season. With Roy already uncovering his secret affair with Vareny, a lawyer for the Bellaries, he doesn’t take much to snitch on Charles in front of the rest of the family.

But that’s not all. He has already shed a lot of blood, preventing the robbery attempt against him after a wild night of partying at the club. As he asks Varney for help, the latter walks in on Charles trying to take care of the bodies.

What about Rain and Sylvie?

Schemes and secrets have always been at home in Netflix’s Beauty in Black. As Kimmie solidifies her place at work, her BFF Rain enlists Officer Alex, the head of security for Jules, to watch over Kimmie and help. While Alex and Rain connect and bond during their drive around the city, her confrontation with Daga turns rather bloody.

Back at the Bellarie house, Rain causes more mess by shoving Jules’ son, Glen, out of the window when she discovers Sylvie and him having sex. But her reflex comes out of the assumption that Sylvie was being assaulted. However, Glen’s not dead, but things aren’t looking good for him either. With Kimmie’s life unravelling in more ways than one, she now has to do her best to get both Rain and Sylvie out of the situation.

Does Angel die?

Horace unknowingly gives the nod to finish Angel once and for all. But no, he’s not dead. The hit doesn’t really go as planned, but Angel acts dead. However, if Jules and co do find out about the truth, the deadly consequences would fall on his baby and the mother. So, he goes into hiding at Horace’s.
