A Kristen Bell flop is now top of the Netflix charts

The movie business is a fickle beast, and in further proof, a former Kristen Bell flop has now surged to the top of the Netflix charts.

Queenpins, a comedic creation helmed by Aron Gaudet and Gita Pullapilly, currently holds the top spot in Netflix’s film charts, surpassing esteemed original productions like Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget and Rebel Moon.

Having premiered a little over two years ago, Queenpins received mixed critical reviews. Regrettably, the film was labelled a box office disappointment, managing to garner only $1.2million in revenue against a production budget of approximately $20million.

The storyline revolves around a discontented and aimless suburban woman, portrayed by Kristen Bell, and her close companion JoJo, played by Kirby Howell-Baptiste. Together, they embark on an illicit yet highly lucrative venture involving counterfeit coupon schemes.

Noteworthy cast members include Paul Walter Hauser (Richard Jewell), Vince Vaughn (Dodgeball), and Joel McHale, renowned for his role in the sitcom Community.

However, since it landed on Netflix, the movie has found a new audience, who have seemingly shared their appreciation with friends. This has caused a groundswell of appreciation, which has seen Kristen Bell labelled a comedy “queen”.
