Welcome back to our weekly round-up of the most popular series on Netflix. We’ve got a mix of mainstays and new arrivals this week, with many of the public’s favourite shows continuing to attract viewers and bring in hours upon hours of viewing time for the streaming platform. with a wet and wild weekend ahead, now seems like the perfect time to dive into a series for a binge-watching session.
Last week, Echoes was a new entry and occupied the top spot, but most of us believe it would soon drop off. This week, it’s stayed at number one, having earned over 36 million hours of viewing time. The series stars Michelle Monaghan and Karen Robinson as identical twins Leni and Gina, both of whom have been living under one another’s identities for years. After one of the sisters disappears, however, things start to fall apart.
Like last week, a number of enduring favourites have remained in the charts, though their rankings have changed. Locke and Key, for example, has, however, slipped out of the charts, while Manifest (Season One) has garnered another 18 million hours of viewing time in the 18 weeks it’s been on Netflix. Meanwhile, Stranger Things (Season Four) has dropped one place to number five.
This week’s most notable new entry is the first season of Devil in Ohio, which is the second most watched series n the platform, with a massive 35 million hours of viewing. The scary premise may suggest that the spooky season is drawing ever closer for audiences.
Also, making entries this week is I AM A KILLER, which would compound the idea of frightening oneself to death as the perfect way to welcome autumn. With nearly 18 million hours of viewing, it remains one of the most watched shows around.
