Stranger Things has continued its slide down the Netflix popular series list. However, the fact that the Duffer Brothers’ hit show is still knocking about goes to show its wild popularity amongst a variety of generations.
The science fiction drama series has been bumped off the top spot in recent weeks by the TV adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s comic book series The Sandman, which has amassed a whopping 127 million hours viewed this past week alone.
Elsewhere, two new players to the game have jumped straight in at numbers two and three. They are the third season of Never Have I Ever and the third season of Locke & Key, respectively. The fact that Stranger Things has been out for some time now proves that most people who were interested in the show have now watched it and are turning their attention elsewhere.
Manifest is flexing its popularity muscles on the streaming platform as all three seasons of the show are currently in the top 10 popular series. The supernatural show focuses on the crew and passengers of a missing aeroplane that suddenly appear after being presumed dead for the last five and a half years.
Another newcomer to the fray is the real-crime documentary series I Just Killed My Dad. The genre has persistently proved popular on Netflix, and the synopsis for the show reads: “Anthony Templet shot his father and never denied it. But why he did is a complex question with profound implications that go far beyond one family.”
The top 10 list is completed by the fourth season of the romantic drama series Virgin River, which has also confirmed a future fifth season, and the survival drama series Keep Breathing.
Keep Breathing is a limited series starring Melissa Barrera and Jeff Wilbusch in a story that centres on a small plane crashing into the Canadian wilderness. Barrera’s character, Liv, must survive on her own, battling against the elements. So it appears that survival and plane crashes are the order of the week, considering Keep Breathing and Manifest are both to be found in the top 10 series on Netflix this week.
