Welcome back to our weekly round-up of the most popular series on Netflix. Many of last week’s biggest hitters have remained in the charts this week, but others have dropped off the top ten completely. Let’s take a closer look.
Our most prominent new entry this week is Echoes, which stars Michelle Monaghan and Karen Robinson as identical twins Leni and Gina, both of whom have been living under one another’s identities for years. After one of the sisters disappears, however, things start to fall apart. On-site for just one week, the show has already garnered 25,630,000 hours worth of watching time, pushing it above the first season of Manifest, which has been on site for 16 weeks now and has earned 24,120,000 hours.
Much of this week’s top ten has remained where it was in our previous round-up, including Never Have I Ever (Season Three), which remains in the number two spot, and Locke and Key (Season Three), which is still holding out at number four.
Never Have I Ever stars Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Poorna Jagannathan and Richa Moorjan and tells the story of an Indian-American teenager who, after a traumatic year, is trying to expand her social circle, although her friends and family don’t seem so happy about it. The dizzying popularity of the third season has led the previous two seasons to break into the top ten, with Season One occupying the number eight spot and Season One bumping the second season of Manifest down to number ten.
After dropping down to number four last week, Stranger Things (Season Four) has risen to number three, having accumulated 28,800,000 hours in the 13 weeks it’s been available. The first season of The Sandman is also doing incredibly well – keeping hold of the top spot and earning a whopping 77,240,000 hours of viewing time. Starring Tom Sturridge, Boyd Holbrook and Patton Oswalt, the Neil Gaiman adaptation tells the story of Morpheus, the King of Dreams, who must journey across the world to “find what was stolen from him and restore his power.”
