Another week, another top ten. As always, Netflix continues to cater to our every viewing whim, offering a diverse range of new shows for our pleasure. While this week’s chart includes a brand new number one, several of last week’s big hitters are still in the game. Let’s take a closer look.
At number ten, we’ve got the first season of The Smurfs, which has knocked out last week’s number ten, Indian Matchmaking: Season 3. The new CGI-animated series arrived on Netflix on May 1st and has since garnered over nine million hours of viewing time.
Last week’s number nine was the dating show/social experiment Love Is Blind, in which a bunch of singletons are required to woo, date and plan for marriage without seeing what their prospective life partners look like. But this week, it’s been replaced by the first season of BEEF, Lee Sung Jin’s dark comedy series starring Amy Wong and Steven Yeun as two strangers bought together by a road rage incident.
That’s just below this week’s number eight, Workin’ Moms: Season 7, which is currently on over 14million accumulated hours of viewing time. Then we’ve got the first season of Firefly Lane, which has raked in 16.5million hours of viewing time thanks to the arrival of the second season – currently ranked at number three.
Working our way up to number six, we’ve got the first season of Sweet Tooth, in which a young half-boy-half-deer wanders a fantastical, post-apocalyptic landscape in search of a new life. Above that, at number five, we’ve got the first season of Shawn Ryan’s The Night Agent, which is sat below the first season of fellow thriller The Diplomat.
Above the second season of Firefly Lane, we’ve got the second season of Sweet Tooth – currently on 60million hours of viewing time – and this week’s number one, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. The Bridgerton spin-off has received critical acclaim and earned over 148.28million hours worldwide in less than a week on Netflix. Check out the trailer below.
