We are once again diving into the gargantuan amount of films on Netflix and bringing you the lowdown on what’s high on the charts—bringing you the most popular films on Netflix this week.
Despite being regarded as one of the lowest-rated films in Netflix’s history, somehow, Kevin Hart and Mark Wahlberg’s buddy film Me Time is still the most watched film this week. Me Time sees the duo combine in the wacky comedy that “follows a Dad who finds time for himself for the first time in years while his wife and kids are away. He reconnects with a friend for a wild weekend.” It has chalked up an incredible 56 million hours of viewing. That’s almost 15 million hours more than the nearest challenger.
That nearest challenger is a brand new entry, Love in the Villa, which, as you might have already guessed, is a romantic comedy designed to give you a warm glow, similar to a bowl of soup. The synopsis reads: “A newly single woman learns the Italian villa she reserved is double-booked, and she’ll have to share it with a cynical stranger.”
There’s another new entry at number three, too, with I Came By, which stars former Downton Abbey lord, Hugh Bonneville, in a dark and dangerous thriller. With so many positive reviews, this would be the pick of the litter to watch this weekend. With over 30 million hours of viewing in its first week, it would appear the audience agrees.
Elsewhere, Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans’ spy epic The Gray Man is still boasting a place on the charts, capturing 6 million hours of viewing. Likewise, the heartbreaking war story Purple Hearts is also enjoying its sixth week on the charts, with 7 million hours of viewing.
Aside from the erotic thriller The Next 365 Days, the rest of the chart is made up of a combination of rom-coms and fluff pieces. Find the full list of the most popular films on Netflix this week below.
