It is just over a month before Netflix releases part two of Zack Snyder’s science-fiction epic, Rebel Moon. The sequel, Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver, promises to be just as ambitious as the first iteration, as a star-studded cast take to the screen to fight against the Motherworld.
In the build-up to the new series, Netflix released the very first poster, which reflects just how action-packed fans can expect the series to be.
The sequel will continue the epic saga of Kara, who will fight alongside the surviving warriors from the first film and the brave people of Veldt. They are working to defend a once-peaceful village which is being used as a homeland for anyone who has lost their home during the conflict.
The fight takes place against the Motherworld, but on the eve of the big battle, the warriors must face the truth about their pasts. Doing so reveals why each warrior chooses to fight and why the battle means so much to them. The description for the series states, “As the full force of the Realm bears down on the burgeoning rebellion, unbreakable bonds are forged, heroes emerge and legends are made.”
The cast confirmed to take part in the new series include, “Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, Corey Stoll, Alfonso Herrera, Anthony Hopkins, Donna Bar, Ray Fisher, Stuart Martin and Fra Free.”
There is a lot of pressure on the cast and crew for the second film as the first iteration, Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire, received an onslaught of negative reviews. Despite being one of the most streamed films for a period, positive comments on the series were few and far between. Subsequently, Snyder hopes the sequel is better so that the franchise can continue to run.
