Zack Snyder’s Netflix film ‘Rebel Moon’ is a star-studded affair

Zack Snyder’s upcoming Netflix sci-fi film, Rebel Moon, is indeed a star-studded affair. After a brief stint at Warner Brothers and DC Films Universe, following his success with films like Army of the Dead and Army of Thieves, Snyder seems to be gearing up hard for his next release by acquiring a huge ensemble cast.

After announcing Sofia Boutella to be a part of the cast, the filmmaker has acquired the services of Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou and Bae Doona.

Also joining them will be Justice League alum (Cyborg) Ray Fisher, with whom Snyder have collaborated before. Fisher had found himself in a controversy previously when he alleged mistreatment meted out to him by former director Joss Whedon, who was replaced by Snyder.

Hunnam has been previously seen in Sons of Anarchy and Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim. While not much is known about his character, Cloud Atlas’ Bae Doona will be seen as a sword-wielder while Guardians of the Galaxy’s Hounsou will be known as General Titus. Taking to Twitter, Snyder announced the rest of the cast.

Co-written by Snyder alongside Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad, the film will be set in a “peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy that is threatened by the armies of a tyrannical regent named Balisarius”.

Boutella will play the role of the fearless woman “with a mysterious past” sent by the people from the realm to “seek out warriors from neighbouring planets to help them make a stand.” Production is scheduled to begin in April 2022 and continue till November.
