‘XO, Kitty’ details season two and adds three new characters

The popular Netflix show XO, Kitty received the green light for a second season just a month after its debut last month. The show garnered impressive viewership numbers for the streaming platform. However, details about the upcoming season have been scarce since the renewal announcement.

A new announcement details a cast involving the return of Anna Cathcart as Kitty, along with Minyeong Choi, Gia Kim, Sang Heon Lee, Anthony Keyvan, Peter Thurnwald, and Regan Aliyah, reprising their respective roles. Sascha G. Rothchild and Jennifer K Han will also continue to direct the series as showrunners for the second season.

The upcoming season will be shot over a three-month filming schedule, primarily in South Korea, from April to June 2024.

The exciting announcement includes details of three new characters for the second season. Sophie, a Korean American teenager originally from Ohio, joins the cast as a last-minute transfer student participating in an exchange program through her Korean church.

Additionally, Mr Choi is a prominent talent manager spearheading a new arts program at KISS. This character is described as a handsome narcissist who leaves many a broken heart in his wake.

Finally, a recurring guest star named Young joins as a contender in the race for the captaincy of the track team. Naturally competitive, Young brings a dynamic edge to the storyline. He reportedly serves as a primary rival to one of the main protagonists.

Although no exact release date has been scheduled yet, the second season is expected to arrive in 2025. It was left off the recent announcement for Netflix’s 2024 lineup; however, Netflix maintains that “Titles and dates are subject to change” and that  “not all titles for 2024 are included.”
