Will there be a ‘Too Much’ season two?

Netflix has not yet confirmed whether Too Much will return for a second season. The romantic drama, created by Lena Dunham and Luis Felber, ended with an emotionally layered finale that left plenty of room for continuation. While the platform remains silent on renewal plans, Dunham has addressed the possibility of more episodes.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she did not offer a concrete answer but gave fans something to think about.

“In terms of the second season, we’re not there yet. But when I think about where these characters would go, when Luis and I talk about it, what we’re really thinking about is that marriage is not the end of a love story — it’s the beginning.”

The first season of Too Much followed Jessie, a chaotic American woman, and Tom, a soft-spoken British musician, as they formed a connection over distance, time zones, and personal baggage. Their story was not framed as a perfect love story. Instead, it leaned into uncertainty, miscommunication, and emotional risk.

Dunham’s quote suggests that if the story continues, it will move away from early-stage romance and explore what comes after. The concept of “marriage as a beginning” hints at a tone shift. Season two, if it happens, could focus less on longing and more on the daily effort of staying together.

The final episode does not end on a dramatic cliffhanger. It offers quiet closure while leaving space for new possibilities. That balance makes the show feel complete but also open-ended enough for expansion.

Netflix has not made an official statement about the show’s future. As of now, there is no word on renewal or cancellation. But Dunham’s comments show that the door is open. The characters have more to say. Whether audiences get to hear it depends on what comes next behind the scenes.
