Will ‘Ransom Canyon’ return for a third season?

Ransom Canyon just arrived on Netflix with its highly anticipated sophomore season. And as soon as the credits began rolling, netizens were back with their most-asked question: Is it returning for more?

Although the creator may have expected viewers to stay busy at least for a weekend with the latest season, since all eight episodes landed at once, most fans chose not to derail the watch, lest spoilers ruin the fun.

The second season of Ransom Canyon, now streaming on Netflix, picks up with a six-month gap from the debut instalment as Quinn returns to the town half a year later from New York after leaving to chase her dreams. Meanwhile, Staten steps up to fight to reclaim and secure his ranch legacy following interpersonal family tensions and external pressure.

While Ransom Canyon season two is packed with its fair share of twists and turns, the conclusion now has viewers curious about what lies ahead.

Well, to answer the truth, Netflix has not officially renewed the neo-Western romantic drama for a third season yet. As we know, the streaming giant prefers to weigh in quite a few factors before greenlighting a show for a follow-up, including viewership numbers and completion rates, among other things.

In fact, even the debut season had to prove its worth before Netflix renewed the fan-favourite show for a second season nearly two months later. And despite the relatively quick renewal, fans had to wait a whole year for the follow-up season to arrive.

If a similar timeline is followed, viewers should not expect a season three announcement just yet since the show just hit Netflix shelves. However, then again, exceptions do take place.

That said, during a recent interview on Live with Kelly and Mark, Minka Kelly did address the possibility of a third instalment, expressing her excitement to explore the character she portrays on screen more. While that’s welcome news, it’s unfortunately not enough to confirm what lies ahead for Ransom Canyon and whether there’s any future. On the brighter side, it does hint at a strong possibility.

So, until an official confirmation arrives, stream the first two seasons of Ransom Canyon on Netflix so you won’t have to opt for a recap if a renewal does take place.
