Will ‘Crew Girl’ return for a second season on Netflix?

Crew Girl was only released on Netflix yesterday, and if you have already devoured all eight episodes, then congratulations, you are exactly the problem streaming platforms love. The finale does not exactly give Teagan Tao a satisfactory ending, either, so naturally the season two question had to come into the picture.

To begin with, there is still far too much hanging in the air. Cam and Teagan finally kiss at the end, but Josh has already asked her to give him another chance once he recovers, and Teagan never gives him a clean no, which means anyone preparing a little victory speech for their chosen ship might want to keep it in drafts for now.

Then there is rowing, because the show’s literally called Crew Girl. Not everything’s about romance, people. Get your head straight. The good news is, Easton is finally getting a girls’ crew, which should be Teagan’s wet dream, except Britney is joining, and her family is connected to the funding. So Teagan gets what she wanted, but she has to take it with a bitter pill.

David turning himself in after watching Teagan take silver gives the Tao family storyline some closure, but not a ribbon-on-top kind. The fraud case still exists, and the family fallout is not going to evaporate overnight, so it looks like there are plenty of storylines for season two to catch up.

As for whether Netflix has actually renewed the show for a season two, the answer is not yet. And before anyone starts mourning the show, though, it premiered on September 10th, so we are talking about a series that has barely reached the masses, and hence, patience is the only answer.

On a positive note, showrunner Vivian Lin has already spoken about the possibility of continuing the story, and she revealed that the writers had to think about what another season’s opening episode might look like while putting the finale together.

So if you finished the finale and came hunting for season two news, we don’t blame you. Nothing is official yet, but Crew Girl has left far too much delicious business lying around for Teagan’s story to feel finished.
