Why you should be excited about ‘The Chestnut Man: Hide and Seek’
Five long years have passed since The Chestnut Man premiered on Netflix, leaving fans frantic about a follow-up season. Now, we’re delighted to reveal that the wait is nearly over with The Chestnut Man: Hide and Seek set for release this May.
The Danish Netflix original crime thriller was an instant hit, and the sequel season is most likely to follow in its footsteps.
Directed by Roni Ezra, The Chestnut Man: Hide and Seek’s script is co-written by Dorte W Høgh and Emilie Lebech Kaae, who have adapted Søren Sveistrup’s novel Hide and Seek for television.
But what exactly does the sequel season, The Chestnut Man: Hide and Seek, entail? Let’s find out!
What is the plot?
According to the official Netflix synopsis, The Chestnut Man: Hide and Seek follows the mysterious disappearance of a 41-year-old woman. After the missing person report is filed, the cops track back her digital footprints, concluding that she had been stalked for months. In fact, the findings hint that an elusive perpetrator has been involved in an involuntary game of hide and seek, having put her under constant surveillance.
Not just that, the unidentified perpetrator had been sending her images, videos, and even a nursery rhyme-type counting song. But when the woman is found killed, it becomes clear that the murder is possibly linked to an unsolved murder case of a 17-year-old high school student from two years ago. What exactly is the connection? And who is the perpetrator? Only time will reveal the answers.

Mikkel Følsgaard and Danica Čurčić are set to return as Mark Hess and Naia Thulin, respectively, in the second season of the Netflix crime drama. Other confirmed cast members helming The Chestnut Man: Hide and Seek include Sofie Gråbøl as Marie Holst, Katinka Lærke Petersen as Sandra Lindstrøm, Özlem Sahlanmak as Esra Foldager, Ester Birch as Le Thulin, Anders Hove as Aksel Larsen, Michelle Bjørn-Andersen as Gunna Husted, and Christoffer Svane as Jon Hess.
