Why you should be excited about ‘Phantom Lawyer’ on Netflix
Netflix has most recently acquired the weekly streaming rights to the upcoming supernatural drama, Phantom Lawyer, as part of its deal struck with SBS.
For those uninitiated, Phantom Lawyer, AKA Shin and Law Office or God and Law Firm, is an internationally licensed South Korean legal comedy series, fronted by Yoo Yeon Seok and Esom.
The series will broadcast domestically on the South Korean network SBS before releasing weekly on Netflix this March.
So, if you like your South Korean titles to bring a mix of genres, here’s a rundown of what to expect from Phantom Lawyer, coming soon to Netflix.
What is the plot?
Phantom Lawyer follows Sin I Rang, a clumsy lawyer lacking in confidence who accidentally opens a shop in an old shaman’s house only to unexpectedly start seeing ghosts. After sad ghosts begin to show up, seeking legal assistance, his suppressed courage kicks in. But the best part of it all? Whenever I Rang works for the cause of these ghostly clients, they possess him for a short period, where he owns their quirky personalities.
Things get even more interesting when he locks horns with a top-tier lawyer who has never lost a case until she met I Rang. Initially, she takes the ghost stories in jest, but after witnessing it first-hand, they join forces to bring justice to these spirits.
Who is in the cast?
Yoo Yeon Seok will portray Sin I Rang while Esom stars as the cold lawyer, Han Na Hyeon. In addition to them, the main case also features Kim Kyung Nam as Yang Do Gyeong.
