Why you should be excited about Michael B Jordan’s animated comedy ‘Swapped’
Fresh off his glorious award season appearances, Michael B Jordan is all set to make his Netflix return with a Freak Friday-like adventure set in the wild, Swapped, alongside Juno Temple. Now, it’s safe to say that the dynamic duo is about to ruffle some feathers.
Premiering this May, in anticipation of what’s to come, Netflix and Skydance Animation have already rolled out stills from Swapped, formerly titled Pookoo.
“Swapped is a body swap movie unlike anything audiences have seen before,” says director Nathan Greno in a conversation with Tudum. “In this world, the creatures of the valley exist on a spectrum between plant and animal, creating a wild ecosystem. At the centre of the film is the smallest creature in the valley, voiced by Michael B Jordan, who suddenly finds himself swapped into a completely different body and thrust into a massive, unpredictable world…”

What is the plot?
Set deep within the animal kingdom, Swapped follows a tiny woodland creature voiced by Michael B Jordan and a regal bird voiced by Juno Temple who end up in a chaotic body-swap mishap. Despite being sworn enemies originally, they are now not only forced to walk in each other’s feathers and fur, but also embrace their changed lives as they embark on a wild journey together.
Who is in the cast and crew?
In addition to Michael B Jordan and Juno Temple, the Swapped cast on Netflix features Cedric the Entertainer, Tracy Morgan, Justina Machado, Ambika Mod, and Lolly Adefope. Nathan Greno is directing the upcoming comedy from a script written by John Whittington and writing partners Christian Magalhães and Robert Snow. John Lasseter, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Mary Ellen Bauder Andrews are producing the movie.
