Why you should be excited about ‘Legends’ on Netflix

So far this spring, Netflix has given viewers a mixed dose of crime, comedy, mystery, horror, thriller, and even a glimpse of space live streaming, taking the entertainment game to the next level. But now, they must prepare to go undercover, thanks to Neil Forsyth’s Legends.

Inspired by one of the most profound criminal investigations ever conducted, Legends follows a group of ordinary British Customs officers, tasked with an extraordinary top-secret mission: to infiltrate the country’s most dangerous drug syndicates and dismantle them from the inside.

Premiering in May, Legends is undeniably one of the most anticipated offerings from Netflix this streaming season.

While Netflix already rolled back the curtain on the show’s trailer for a preview of what’s to come, for those curious about the rest of the details, here’s a rundown of what to expect from Legends.

What is the plot?

Set in the early ‘90s, Legends takes place when Her Majesty’s Customs and Excise was losing the fight against illegal drug smuggling across Britain’s borders. To overcome the setback, they opted for an extraordinary solution. In a top-secret mission, a small team of Customs employees were sent on an undercover mission to infiltrate Britain’s most notorious drug gangs.

But since none of them was trained spies, just ordinary men and women uprooted from their normal lives across the UK, they were given basic training to build new identities within the criminal underworld. These identities were called legends.

Who is in the cast and crew?

Netflix has roped in an ensemble cast for the upcoming series, with Tom Burke playing ‘Guy,’ Steve Coogan portraying ‘Don,’ Hayley Squires playing ‘Kate,’ and Tom Hughes portraying ‘Carter.’ Aml Ameen as ‘Bailey,’ Jasmine Blackborow as ‘Erin,’ Douglas Hodge as ‘Blake,’ Johnny Harris as ‘Eddie,’ Gerald Kyd as ‘Mylonas,’ Numan Acar as ‘Hakan,’ Charlotte Ritchie as ‘Sophie,’ Joshua Samuels as ‘Zeki,’ Kem Hassan as ‘Aziz,’ and Thomas Coombes as ‘Shaun’ round out the cast of Legends.
