Why Patricia Allison is leaving 'Sex Education'

Patricia Allison has explained her decision to leave the hit Netflix show, Sex Education.

Allison was appearing on the Capital Xtra radio show, Breakfast With Yinka and Shayna Marie when she made the revelation that she wouldn’t be returning to the programme for the fourth series. She’s been in Sex Education since the first season and will be a missed presence on the show.

Her departure will upset viewers because there was intrigue surrounding her character, Ola, and her relationship with Lily. Seemingly, fans will have to leave that to their imaginations.

In the radio interview, Allison explained “other opportunities” had come about, and revealed it was a “difficult” decision but she felt the time was right to move on.

Allison said: “I absolutely have loved being on Sex Education so, so much… but unfortunately, I won’t be joining the team for Season 4. Some opportunities have come up. I’ve been doing it for three years, and I’ve genuinely loved it.”

She continued: “I guess I have to say goodbye at some time, which is kind of sad, but other things are coming, and that’s really exciting.”

Simone Ashley also won’t be appearing in the fourth season of Sex Education after the phenomenal success she found as Kate Sharma in Bridgerton.
