Where is Lady Gaga in ‘Wednesday’ season two?
When season two of Wednesday was done being shot, there were some rumours floating in the air that Lady Gaga would join the cast of the show.
While it wasn’t just a rumour and was very much true, something feels missing at Nevermore Academy. The shadows are just as creepy, Wednesday’s glare is still sharp enough to cut glass, and the chaos is in full swing, but where is Lady Gaga? Fans went into Wednesday‘s season two, part one, expecting the pop icon to stroll through those gothic gates, only to finish the episodes with one burning question: Did we imagine the whole thing?
It was not just wishful thinking. Ever since that viral edit of Wednesday’s season one prom dance flawlessly set to Gaga’s ‘Bloody Mary’ took over TikTok, the idea of her joining the show has been stuck in everyone’s head. It became so big that the creators could not ignore it. The fancams were everywhere, and the song climbed the charts again. The internet crowned Gaga an honorary resident of Nevermore long before any official casting news.
So, when the streaming platform confirmed in May that she was indeed joining season two, fans thought they would be seeing her from episode one. Instead, they got radio silence. No Gaga sightings, no mysterious new teacher lurking in the background, nothing. Which leaves the burning question of when will she finally make her entrance?
The answer is part two. Lady Gaga will appear in the second half, which lands on September 3rd. She plays Rosaline Rotwood, described by Netflix as “a legendary Nevermore teacher who crosses paths with Wednesday”. She is not based on any original Addams Family character, so her role is a complete mystery, and, according to Jenna Ortega, she is nothing like what fans expect.
Her casting was first reported in November 2024, though Ortega had already been filming season two for months. That explains why Gaga is absent from the first half. Her episodes were always planned for later in the season.
Behind the scenes, her arrival was treated like a royal visit. Ortega recalled that production rolled out a special walkway from Gaga’s trailer to the set, swapped her own “dirty” tent for a brand new one, added a barber’s chair, and even served fancy water. “We really did it up for her, guys,” she said, laughing, “We really wanted to impress her”.
To make the moment even bigger, Gaga will release a new song called ‘Dead Dance’. The track, produced by Andrew Watt and Cirkut (from her Mayhem album), will feature in the show, possibly to soundtrack her entrance. No release date yet, but it is already primed to send TikTok back into ‘Bloody Mary’-level chaos.
So yes, Gaga is coming. And when she does, it will be worth the wait because when ‘Mother Monster’ finally walks into Nevermore, you know she is not just there to blend in.
