Just in time for the United States’s 250th anniversary, Netflix announced a new five-part historical documentary, titled The American Experiment, that recounts the miracle milestone that became the nation’s foundational crux.

The Netflix documentary simultaneously re-examines the very question that underscored the American Revolution: “Can a people govern themselves?”

Scheduled to premiere this June, The American Experiment promises to feature an extensive range of key voices, including those of ex-vice presidents and cabinet officials, contemporary and former Congress members, prolific historians, tribal chiefs, military personnel, and political leaders who shed light on the origins and future of American democracy.
