Amidst the influx of non-stop entertainment, Netflix Puzzled just got an upgrade to its daily lineup with a reimagined version of Hasbro’s iconic game, Scattegories.
While the streamer’s playfield recently levelled up with the introduction of the Netflix Playground, now subscribers can officially play the classic word game featuring exclusive themes, references to your favourite Netflix shows, alongside a fresh look.
Already available on Tudum and the Netflix Puzzled app, Scattegories is easily the next big thing from the streaming mogul’s stack of surprises this year.

What type of game is it?
Netflix Puzzled: Scattegories is basically a reimagined version of Hasbro’s word game. However, you can play it anytime, anywhere, without having to worry about carrying around the 20-sided die. The game adheres to a distinctly curated theme every day, such as “Staying in,” “Houseplants,” and “Books,” among others, and players must use a combination of words that start with the letter of the day to get it right.
Point-hunting is not the priority. Instead, players must come up with answers that appeal to the judge. But they must solve it within 120 seconds, and then they can share their results to find out how many answers it actually took them to get the correct word.
What’s new in the Netflix Puzzled version of Scattegories?
Compared to the Hasbro game, the Netflix version of Scattegories mandates a 120-second time limit. However, unlike the classic, there’s no limitation on the number of attempts for the categories. During launch, the categories are themed around the living room, and players are provided a description alongside an image of common household items.
Every answer submitted is confronted with a personalised reflection. Besides the banter, Scattegories will bring a different puzzle every day for the first two weeks. When a player solves one, they can unlock a living room item to tackle.
While surprises are bound to appear with time, players can also expect a few familiar faces from their favourite Netflix shows.
How frequently do the categories refresh?
Netflix Puzzled: Scattegories undergoes a refresh each and every day. For the first two weeks, they will primarily highlight the living room themes; after that, Netflix plans to feature topics such as vegetables, cheese, types of fish, restaurants, and European cities. But rest assured, the living room collection will be a permanent addition after launch.
