What to expect from ‘Wednesday’ season three?
Wednesday just got a gory glow-up this week when fans were least expecting a Wednesday scoop. As Netflix orchestrates the return of the Addams Family outcast, the streaming giant ordered a third season before Wednesday’s woeful touchdown. So long, fans were busy theorising what kind of doom awaits this upcoming instalment. But with the third season now confirmed, eyes are going above and beyond.
Netflix has many feathers in its hat. But the one fans enjoy the most is when they pull out a rabbit. And this Wednesday, July 23rd, Netflix did just that by renewing Wednesday for a third season. The announcement comes right ahead of the impending premiere of the second season, where Jenna Ortega returns to Nevermore Academy.
Speaking of the renewal, co-creator and co-showrunner Alfred Gough said, “Miles and I have been doing this long enough to know that shows like this don’t come along every day. It’s such an alchemy of writing, directing, acting, crew, streamer, studio, and fans.” And honestly, one cannot agree more, as Wednesday remains the most-viewed English-language series of all time on Netflix.
The stakes are already higher in season two, with Wednesday taking a darker turn than before. While the crank up on the horror will not have any shortcomings to its morbid humour, fans will see more of the Addams family members than just Wednesday. But what about season three?
Well, if the second season of Wednesday ramps up the terror, the next one will push it to the edge of sanity, where darkness is the only form of light. “Our goal for season three is the same as it is for every season: to make it the best season of Wednesday we possibly can,” Gough assured. Moving forward, the creators intend to dig deeper into the Addams Family lore and its characters, while focusing on Wednesday’s adventures in Nevermore.
Fans are already buckling up to see twice the Addams family members in Wednesday season two. But according to Gough, “We will be seeing more Addams family members and learning more family secrets in season three!” Sure, it’s too early to unveil the plot twists, the possible story arcs, and release dates for the third instalment.
But fans can rest assured that at every seasonal kerb, Netflix will dial up the macabre for fans. So, in case you need a warm-up, now is the time – the first season of Wednesday is streaming on Netflix. And the first part of the second is counting days until August 6th, 2025. Expect a surge of body count, more secrets, and more sinister forces as Wednesday comes back to the scene of the crime.
