‘Wednesday’ changes filming location for season two

The Netflix series Wednesday will be on the receiving end of a significant change when the second season finally begins production. Season two has been delayed for some time because of the writers and actors strikes in Hollywood.

However, now that both the strikes have come to an end, the series based on the original Addams Family show will move ahead. Wednesday has been one of the most successful shows on Netflix since it was released on the streaming service in November 2022.

The second season was quickly commissioned with Jenna Ortega set to reprise her role as the iconic physic teenager, telling of her teenage years at the Nevermore Academy school.

Scripts for the season are now being written, and production is set to go ahead in April 2024. However, when the filming begins, there will be one glaring difference from the first season.

The first batch of Wednesday episodes had been made in Romania, but now season two will be filmed in Ireland, with logistical challenges thought to be the reason behind the decision.

Alongside Ortega, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán, who play Morticia and Gomez Addams, will also star.
