With his iconic beard and chin-length hair that adds to his rugged aesthetic, Keanu Reeves is a pop-cultural phenomenon. Reeves is a highly accomplished actor whose superstardom has transcended any genre constriction. A thorough philanthropist and highly humble, Reeves’ career underwent a resuscitation – also known as Kenessaince – following his performance as John Wick in the eponymous film.
The actor has an extensive filmography with some popular films, including The Matrix franchise, My Own Private Idaho, Always Be My Maybe, The Replacements, To The Bone, Bram Stoker’s Dracula, John Wick, The Whole Truth, Constantine, The Devil’s Advocate etc.
However, there are quite a few Keanu Reeves films that are often neglected. One such movie is now streaming on Netflix that we might not have heard of.
In 2018, the Matthew Ross thriller Siberia starred Reeves, Ana Ularu, Molly Ringwald and Pasha D. Lychnikoff. The film revolves around an American black market diamond dealer who travels to the severe Siberian tundra to find his missing business partner in St. Petersburg.
However, this journey makes him find love, and soon he finds himself trapped in a treacherous and vicious world of diamond trade where there is seemingly no escape.
Yet another Reeves film that was initially turned down by Nicolas Cage (the others being The Matrix and Constantine), the film is shot in a moody and gloomy blue haze that mirrors the tension within the film.
With plenty of action and steamy sex scenes, the film records yet another poker-faced performance from Reeves.
Watch Siberia on Netflix now.
