Netflix have unveiled the trailer for the second instalment of their tennis-focused documentary series, Break Point. The new season is set for release on January 10th.
The first season of Break Point premiered earlier this year, splitting ten episodes into two halves. Providing an inside look at players at the top of their game, including Paula Badosa and Stefanos Tsitsipas, it included coverage of Wimbledon, the ATP Finals and more.
“The world’s top tennis players return to the courts and set their sights on glory once again during another grueling Grand Slam season,” Netflix’s description of the second season states.
The new trailer features slow-motion game footage, behind-the-scenes shots of the players, and a series of voiceover quotes demonstrating the severe competition at the centre of the game. “We want to destroy each other,” one player states.
The trailer also suggests that the season will delve into the difficulties of the players personal lives as they navigate newfound celebrity. “You have to become accustomed to being a celebrity,” another player admits.
Culminating with a montage of trophy lifts and one devastated dive onto the court, the trailer promises more nail-biting moments from the sport’s best.
The second season of Break Point will be released exclusively on Netflix on January 10th. Watch the trailer below.
