Watch the trailer for Netflix’s new Bob Ross documentary

Even 26 years after his demise, Bob Ross continues to be a cultural phenomenon with a huge cult-like following. The television artist continues to inspire with his mellowed voice, reassuring smile and curly hair. Far more than a painter or TV personality, Bob Ross is simply an icon now.

Milking his popularity, Netflix is set to release a documentary titled Bob Ross: Happy Accidents, Betrayal & Greed on August 25, 2021, and has recently released the trailer.

Directed by Joshua Rofe, the documentary will explore the secrets that Ross hid under his happy exterior. It will take a look at the harrowing “slow betrayal” and tell the “shocking untold story” of this beloved painter with his “iconic hair, soothing voice and nostalgic paintings”.

The cryptic trailer that Netflix recently released will make one wonder if they really knew the real Ross. The Ross we are familiar with is encouraging, talks about how there are no mistakes, only happy accidents and urges the world to paint their woes away.

But beyond this facade, he conceals the longstanding battle for his business empire that cast a gloomy shadow over the happy and picturesque landscapes he painted. This Netflix documentary promises to do just that by delving deeper into the untold truth.

On August 25, we will finally get to know the truth. Check out the trailer below:
