Netflix have released the trailer for its upcoming thriller Intrusion, and it looks like a must-watch.
The film, directed by Adam Salky, focuses on Meera and Henry, a couple who seemingly live a perfect life in a swanky suburban home. However, disaster strikes when an intruder leaves the wife utterly shocked and traumatised. It concentrates on Meera’s recovery as she searches for the answers. However, her journey finds her stumbling across an array of bitter truths as she learns about lies she was never meant to discover.
The trailer’s tagline, “Never ask questions you don’t want answered,” indeed does sound pretty ominous, which suits the dark and moody setting. Although the genre has already seen quite a bit of this narrative, the film seems intriguing.
Additionally, it stars Freida Pinto, Logan Marshall-Green, Robert John Burke and more. Pinto is a brilliant and expressive actress, known for her stellar performances in the Award-winning film Slumdog Millionaire and Trishna. Meanwhile, Marshall-Green is no stranger to the thriller genre, appearing in the 2015 horror thriller The Invitation.
In an interview with Decider, Salky spoke of the characters and the film premise. He spoke of how he wants the audience to take note of her being a breast cancer survivor. He did not indulge much in details about Henry and said, “The movie is about the terrifying unknowability of people.”
He continued: “I grew up on thrillers. I love those kinds of movies. The whole idea behind making Intrusion was to make something that kept people in suspense and deliver them a big surprise at the end. And I hope that film does that for people.”
