Ever since The Witcher came about it always seemed to have great franchise potential and nobody has realised that quite like Netflix.
Now the streaming giant has commissioned an animated feature of the movie with the plot focussing on a time long before Geralt of Rivia’s and Vesemir have ever met.
According to Witcher’s official fandom, the movie, titled The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, has the following synopsis: “Long before mentoring Geralt, Vesemir begins his own journey as a witcher after the mysterious Deglan claims him through the Law of Surprises.”
The feature, which is set to land on the streaming service on August 23rd of this year has been made by Studio Mir, who have previously worked on the Legend of Korra and others.
It has been directed by Kwang Il Han and by Beau DeMayo. It will also star Kim Bodnia in the lead role of Vesimir, with the rest of the cast unannounced as of yet.
