The very first trailer for season three of The Witcher has been released by Netflix.
The third season will feature Henry Cavill in the lead role for the last time, with Liam Hemsworth taking over as Geralt of Rivia for the fourth series. The show follows a monster slayer and his adventures alongside princesses, bards and more, with the likes of Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, Eamon Farren and Joey Batey joining Cavill in the lead cast.
The synopsis for the new series, released by Netflix, reads, “As monarchs, mages, and beasts of the Continent compete to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri of Cintra into hiding, determined to protect his newly-reunited family against those who threaten to destroy it. Entrusted with Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where she hopes to discover more about the girl’s untapped powers; instead, they discover they’ve landed in a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic, and treachery. They must fight back, put everything on the line — or risk losing each other forever”.
The first five episodes of the new series drop on June 29th, whilst the remaining instalments will be released on July 27th.
