Watch ‘My Hero Academia: Two Heroes’ before it leaves Netflix this week

The streaming era has no shortage of choices. But with Netflix always being on the move, there’s not much to do besides make the most of the last chances. While the streaming giant has gone above and beyond to curate the perfect cinematic arrival arc, it’s time for viewers to take note of what’s leaving by tuning into My Hero Academia: Two Heroes for the final time this week.

For those still out of the loop, the animated superhero film is counting its last days on Netflix. If you plan to watch it in the meantime, please do so before September 25th, as it will be removed from the streamer on this Thursday.

Based on an original story exploring the characters of the My Hero Academia manga series, the film takes place amidst the Final Exams and the Forest Training Camp stories, where Izuku Midoriya joins Toshinori Yagi to see his friend at I-Island during an attack on the moving land from rivals. My Hero Academia: Two Heroes launched a franchise, which was followed by the releases of My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising (2019), My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission (2021), and My Hero Academia: You’re Next (2024).

The 2018 film boasts a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score with a glowing 100% approval rate. And if you’re yet to catch up on it, now seems like the ideal time. The major USP of My Hero Academia: Two Heroes is that it features one of the top-notch animations ever seen in the film franchise. The final fight has been the biggest takeaway from the movie, complete with incredible choreography that makes it a proper visual spectacle.

The climax already features a long-awaited team-up between Deku and All Might. However, the cinematic undertone enhances the emotional momentum, offering fans a powerful deliverance which was promised since the start of the journey. Although anime fans are habituated to watching its weekly TV series, Two Heroes brings an experience far more distinct, probably thanks to the higher budget.

Moreover, fans can watch My Hero Academia: Two Heroes without reading the entire manga series, as it is conceived as a self-contained story. However, those who have read them before, the film brings a new experience with new fan-favourite characters. Hence, either way, it promises something for everyone.

Although the worldbuilding in the TV series is just as great, Two Heroes makes it much more fascinating by taking viewers inside I-Island, adding a new layer of visual intrigue to the existing cosmos of My Hero Academia. While it’s a shame that Netflix is removing the film this week, make sure you’re left with no regrets.
