In 2020, Millie Bobby Brown expanded her body of work by starring in a mystery thriller titled Enola Holmes, which was based on Nancy Springer’s eponymous YA novels. She plays the titular role of Sherlock Holmes’ intelligent younger sister, who continuously rebels against social norms.
Like Brown’s other successful Netflix project – Stranger Things, Enola Holmes became the most-watched film on the streaming platform within five days of its release. While it attracted some negative criticisms for its lack of substance, many viewers found it to be a fun romp.
In an interview, Brown once said: “[Enola Holmes] may be the most important moment in my career so far, because it’s something that I developed. It’s rewarding. Obviously, it can be tiring, and when you look back on it, you’re like, ‘Gosh, I can’t believe I didn’t fall asleep.'”
She added: “But there were so many things that I got to be a part of, and I really was grateful for that. My age and gender has never defined [my job], so everyone on set really respected me and heard me. It was such a nice environment to be able to experience.”
Now, Brown is set to star in an upcoming sequel where she will star alongside the likes of Henry Cavill, Helena Bonham Carter, David Thewlis and many more. The film is set to be released in early November, but its trailer is out already.
