Victoria Beckham’s Netflix documentary is finally around the corner
Victoria Beckham has been famous for nearly three decades now. First as Posh Spice, then as half of one of the world’s most famous couples, and now as a fashion designer. And you know how last year everyone was obsessed with David Beckham’s Netflix doc? Well, guess what? Now it’s Victoria’s turn.
Yup, Posh Spice herself is finally stepping into the spotlight, and her new docuseries drops on Netflix this September.
The funny part? She didn’t even want to do it at first. Apparently, David had to convince her. She thought no one would really care what her everyday life looks like. Which, come on… it is Victoria Beckham! People have been fascinated by her since the Spice Girls. But it makes sense why she might be interested in doing this because for years she has been stuck in that “Posh” box. And that is just four years of her life in the band. And now, nearly 20 years into her fashion career, she is finally ready to tell her side of things.
And it looks like she is going in deep. Which means no sugarcoating whatsoever. She will be talking about the crazy amount of scrutiny she faced in the ‘90s, especially about her body. There is even that cringey moment from 1999 when a TV host literally made her weigh herself live on air, and all that just two months after giving birth. Can you imagine how humiliating that must have been? She admits it messed with her confidence for years. She would avoid sitting on the beach with her kids because she knew paparazzi were waiting. Now though? She says if they take a bad picture, whatever. Life is too short.
Of course, the show is not just about the hard stuff. It is also her journey from becoming a pop star to an actual fashion designer. And not just for the namesake, but she has shown her collections at New York Fashion Week, and she says her company is finally turning a profit. It is basically the story of how she built her second act from scratch.
And yes, there is a treat for David’s fans too. The family will also be a part of this documentary. Not just David, but the kids are part of it too. In fact, Brooklyn and Nicola are expected to appear too, since filming wrapped before all those rumours about drama (which, by the way, the family has denied).
So yeah, Netflix is dropping Victoria Beckham this September. If David’s doc was about football and fame, this one is about identity, confidence, and what it really took for Victoria to step out of the Posh Spice shadow. It feels like the most un-Posh thing she has ever done, which is exactly why you need to watch it.
