Two Vin Diesel action films are storming the Netflix charts

Vin Diesel, one of the highest-grossing action stars of our times, has covered his action bases meticulously over the years. From Marvel (as the voice of the iconic Groot) to Steven Spielberg’s cinema (Saving Private Ryan), Diesel has done it all, but he is most well-known for a grand action saga that is currently storming Netflix.

The iconic Vin Diesel action saga has surged to new heights on Netflix’s global top ten list of films. The Fast and the Furious and The Fate of the Furious are currently holding strong at the eighth and ninth spots, respectively.

Directed by Rob Cohen and written by Gary Scott Thompson, The Fast and the Furious marked the beginning of the franchise. Released in 2001, the film stars Diesel as Dominic Toretto, a street racer with a penchant for danger and a code of loyalty.

Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, and Jordana Brewster join Diesel in a tale of fast cars, rivalries, and family bonds. The film’s enduring appeal is evident as it maintains its position in the top ten movies on Netflix in an impressive 57 countries.

Fast-forward to 2017, and The Fate of the Furious, directed by F. Gary Gray, continues the saga with Diesel reprising his role alongside Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, and Charlize Theron. The film, written by Chris Morgan, explores betrayal within the close-knit crew as Toretto faces an unexpected adversary.

The Fate of the Furious also happens to mark Dwayne Johnson’s double presence on the Netflix top ten lists this week. Black Adam has broken into the top ten films list on Netflix in the US. Currently, the superhero flick is sitting at the eighth spot on the chart.
