Netflix have released the trailer for the forthcoming animated comedy movie Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget, featuring several characters from the iconic original movie released back in 2000.
The trailer opens with Rocky and Ginger, voiced by Zachary Levi and Thandiwe Newton, enjoying their lives on a bird sanctuary island away from the dangers and influence of humans but are disrupted by their daughter Molly’s (Bella Ramsey) request to leave.
Molly is unknowingly taken to Fun-Land Farms, where she learns that her parent’s old enemy Mrs. Tweedy (Miranda Richardson) is about to experience the “dawn of the nugget” while she holds a bucket of fried chicken in her hands.
The synopsis for the film reads, “Having pulled off a death-defying escape from Tweedy’s farm, Ginger has finally found her dream — a peaceful island sanctuary for the whole flock, far from the dangers of the human world.”
It continues, “When she and Rocky hatch a little girl called Molly, Ginger’s happy ending seems complete. But back on the mainland, the whole of chicken-kind faces a new and terrible threat. For Ginger and her team, even if it means putting their own hard-won freedom at risk — this time, they’re breaking in!”
Romesh Ranganathan, David Bradley and Peter Serafinowicz join the cast. The film was announced to the public back in 2018.
