Three Oscar Isaac movies to stream on Netflix before ‘Frankenstein’
Before Frankenstein comes your way to rattle your brain with existential questions, make Netflix your one-stop solution for all things Oscar Isaac.
In Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming adaptation for Netflix, Isaac will slip into the role of Dr Victor Frankenstein, the tormented highbrow who gave birth to the Creature, portrayed by Jacob Elordi.
In all honesty, Isaac has shown his range in Hollywood, whether it’s the AI-fanatic character Nathan Bateman in Ex Machina, a primitive godlike mutant in X-Men Apocalypse, or a wicked alt-universe Spider-Man, Miguel O’Hara, in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
Likewise, he’s no stranger to playing heroes on-screen either. While his Frankenstein role might be in the vein of negativity, check out these three Oscar Isaac movies on Netflix that bring out the best of both sides.

Triple Frontier (J.C. Chandor, 2019)
When it comes to flexing star power, Netflix doesn’t flinch. While Frankenstein is definitely a star-studded flick, Triple Frontier is absolutely no less. Star-packed with, of course, Isaac, the Netflix movie also boasts Hollywood icons like Ben Affleck, Charlie Hunnam, Garrett Hedlund, and Pedro Pascal. The Dune actor stars as Santiago “Pope” Garcia, an operator of the former US Army Delta Force.
Living as a private military advisor, Garcia joins forces with the local law enforcement to resist drug cartels, until an informant arrives with an opportunity for the ex-Delta Force teammates to reunite.
Operation Finale (Christ Weitz, 2018)
Operation Finale is a historical thriller about a 1960 secret operation by Israeli commandos to capture ex-SS officer Adolf Eichmann. The period piece takes place 15 years after the tragedies of World War II, when a clandestine group of Israeli agents come together to travel to Argentina, following the disappearance of Eichmann.
The Nazi officer was infamous for his role in the transportation logistics that brought millions of Jews to death’s door in concentration camps. Hoping to smuggle him out of the country to ensure Eichmann’s trial, agent Peter Malkin, portrayed by Isaac, soon finds himself caught in the cobweb of a deadly ultimatum as he goes all out on a mission to track down the war criminal.
Robin Hood (Ridley Scott, 2010)
Based on the legends of the heroic outlaw, Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood stars Isaac as Prince/King John. Russel Crowe takes on the role of Robin Longstride, portraying the eponymous hero and archer who robs the rich to give to the poor. The only distinction in this version is that things aren’t so black and white for Robin.
In Scott’s 2010 film, Robin Longstride is also a discredited soldier who must serve the recently crowned king, AKA Prince John. This is part of his larger scheme to save England’s fortitude amidst an impending French invasion following the death of King Richard.
