Three Netflix shows to watch if you loved ‘Finding Her Edge’
Finding Her Edge has basically turned into Netflix’s newest obsession magnet, and no, it is not just about skating. It is the fact that Adriana Russo (Madelyn Keys) is out here trying to hold together a crumbling legacy while trying to win the World Championships with a partner she barely trusts.
And with all that, she is still trying to process the fact that her ex, who also used to be her dance partner, is very much still around and very much still doing things to her brain. The tension between her and Brayden (Cale Ambrozic) could slice through a glacier, but it is Freddie who keeps showing up in flashbacks, in interviews. Sheesh, this girl has too much going on!
People are calling it a sports drama, but that label does not even come close to what is happening here. This is betrayal, legacy, ambition, guilt, love, power, and anything else you want to name; go for it. And now that Netflix has confirmed season two, the new fans are catching up in real-time, which means the hype is only getting louder.
So if you finished the season AND devoured the book but now are left with that feeling of still wanting more, these three Netflix shows might just be the follow-up binge you need.
Three Netflix shows to watch if you loved Finding Her Edge
Spinning Out (2020)
You thought Finding Her Edge was intense? Oh, Spinning Out does not even let you exhale. This one follows Kat Baker, a competitive figure skater who is finally getting a shot at a comeback, but between family struggles and career-ending injuries, it is difficult. And her bipolar disorder being kept secret doesn’t help at all. Then she gets paired with Justin, a bad-boy partner who has mastered chaos more than choreography, and every performance of this couple feels like a test of survival.
The skating in this show is gorgeous, though; we have to give them that. But what gets you here is the emotional burn. You get a full package of fights and the makeups with a tinge of mental health tightrope. Just like Adriana, Kat is trying to balance personal wreckage with Olympic-level ambition, and you feel every single drop of that pressure. It is icy, and it keeps the drama consistent, and that’s what we want.
Zero Chill (2021)
Now imagine training for greatness when your own twin is stealing the spotlight. Ohh, this one’s about to sting, big time. In Zero Chill, this is the reality for Kayla MacBentley, a teen figure skater who is forced to move to England so her hockey-prodigy brother can join a big-shot training academy. Like any other teen who has to give up her dreams for a sibling, she is angry and displaced. Yet, she keeps fighting for her own dream while struggling with the fact that her old skating partner is now training with someone else. That’s salt in the wound.
So if you loved the performance rivalry with family pressure and emotional rebound chaos in Finding Her Edge, this one absolutely hits. The sibling dynamic here is everything. Kayla, trying to stay graceful while screaming inside, is exactly like Adriana when Freddie walks in. Jokes apart, it is tense.
My Life with the Walter Boys (2023-)
Okay, My Life with the Walter Boys might not have skating, but it has so much more to offer. After a tragic accident, Jackie leaves New York and moves to Colorado to live with a family that includes… wait for it… eleven boys. Eleven! She is grieving and trying to start over, but everything takes a 180-degree turn when feelings get involved. Especially with two very different brothers falling for her.
Why is it here? Because of the love triangle. Because of the slow burn. Because of the internal mess that mirrors Adriana’s split between Brayden and Freddie. Jackie is pulled in multiple directions, forced to keep up appearances while her whole world shifts underneath. If love triangles are your go-to, this one slaps, except it doesn’t have ice.
