Three gritty new thrillers you cannot miss this June

The Polygamist (Akin Omotoso, Rolie Nikiwe, and Nthabi Tau, 2026)

Adapted from Sue Nyathi’s acclaimed novel, The Polygamist is an upcoming supernovela on Netflix, scheduled to hit shelves on June 12th. The 22-episode thriller series, produced by award-winning Stained Glass Productions, centres on self-made CEO Jonasi Gomora, a mighty name in the business world whose carefully constructed empire and legacy start to unravel thanks to his complicated personal life.

Driven by Jonasi’s infidelity and multiple romantic conquests, The Polygamist captures the scandalous meltdown that follows. The story is primarily told through the perspectives of the women in his life – including wives, mistresses, and fiancées, exploring the social and emotional impact of polygamy as they hold a mirror to Jonasi’s questionable actions.

I Will Find You (Robert Hull, 2026)

Harlan Coben is ready for his Netflix comeback on June 18th with his gripping new collaboration, I Will Find You, based on his 2023 novel. Co-created by Robert Hull and Coben, the forthcoming eight-episode thriller stars Sam Worthington as David Burroughs, a devoted father wrongfully convicted for the murder of his son. Despite his innocence, David has been serving a life sentence without fighting it.

But when he learns that his child could indeed still be alive, David goes the extra mile to break out of prison to uncover the truth. I Will Find You follows Burroughs on his desperate truth-finding mission, which leads him down a rabbit hole of despair and deceit. While disappearances and betrayal are not exactly new tropes of Coben’s novels, this June offering is shaping up to be unlike anything the fans have witnessed before.

Oasis (David Pinillos, 2026)

Arriving on June 19th, Oasis is an upcoming Spanish mystery thriller set in an ultra-exclusive vacation resort reserved primarily for super-rich families. Described as the ultimate vacation spot, complete with private beaches, VIP amenities, and extensively impenetrable security, the Netflix show follows a group of young friends who turn to the destination for a summer getaway on yachts and around beach bonfires.

But the blissful escape soon evolves into a high-stakes whodunit when a young woman mysteriously vanishes into thin air, prompting the police to lock down the resort, trapping every staff and guest inside as suspects. With everyone trapped inside, Oasis captures the paranoia that sets the mood as hidden secrets surface alongside shifting allegiances, solidifying into a nightmare-esque rollercoaster for everybody involved.
