'The Witcher' season 3 teaser trailer is here

Henry Cavill is set to take a final bow as he appears in the trailer for his final season appearing in the Netflix fantasy series The Witcher. The new video was released alongside the news that the fantasy drama will return this summer and split into two halves.

“Everything Changes,” the trailer announces before Cavill’s Geralt of Rivia says, “Now, for the first time, I understand real fear.” The third series will loosely follow the story arc as laid out in author Andrzej Sapkowski’s book series and game adaptations.

Netflix’s synopsis reads: “As monarchs, mages and beasts of the Continent compete to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri (Freya Allan) into hiding, determined to protect his newly-reunited family against those who threaten to destroy it. Entrusted with Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where they hope to uncover more about the girl’s untapped powers; instead, they discover they’ve landed in a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic, and treachery. They must fight back, put everything on the line – or risk losing each other forever.”

Last October, Cavill revealed that he would be leaving the series after its third instalment, while Liam Hemsworth was confirmed to take over his role for season four. The decision came as Cavill revealed he would return to DC Comics as Superman. However, two months later, the actor revealed he wouldn’t reprise his superhero role after all. DC Studios’ new bosses, James Gunn and Peter Safran, are instead planning to tell the story of a younger Clark Kent in the proposed project Superman: Legacy.
