‘The White House’: What to know about Michael Irvin’s new sports podcast?
NFL Hall of Famer Michael Irvin is officially solidifying his Netflix presence following his appearances in the Dallas Cowboys docu-series America’s Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys, and during NFL Christmas Gameday 2025, with the debut of a new sports talk podcast, The White House.
Best known as “The Playmaker” during his monumental career, which included a National Championship in college and three Super Bowl rings as a pro, Irvin will soon be appearing on Netflix as the host of his very own podcast, The White House with Michael Irvin.
Speaking to Tudum of the opportunity, Irvin said, “I am excited about this new venture with Netflix and the opportunity to blend elements of traditional television with the evolving world of podcasting. This project allows us to take what worked in the old format and reimagine it for today’s audience.”
While several sports podcasts are already available on Netflix, including The Bill Simmons Podcast, Pardon My Take, and Spittin’ Chiclets, among others, The White House is the streamer’s first original sports podcast. So, if you’re interested, here’s a rundown of what to expect from Irvin’s upcoming sports podcast.
Who is the host of The White House?
Michael Irvin will himself serve as the host of his upcoming sports talk podcast alongside a rotating lineup of co-hosts and guests. The title is said to have been inspired by his self-proclaimed presidential role in the iconic party house, a venue he also described in America’s Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys as a “safe place for camaraderie, near the Cowboys’ practice ground, which he frequented during the 1990s with his teammates.
“We chose the name ‘The White House’ intentionally. In a crowded media landscape, recognition matters – and few names carry the same immediate weight. For better or worse, ‘The White House’ represents power, decision-making, and cultural relevance. It’s a name people recognise and are compelled to engage with,” Irvin explained.
“This vision is grounded in my spirituality. While the name may surprise some, I believe in not living by the fear of yesterday but living by the fuel of tomorrow.”
Who’s behind the podcast?
Brandon Marshall’s podcast company will produce The White House with Michael Irvin, filming most of their episodes at their Miami-based studio.
What to expect from the podcast, and how often do the episodes come out?
The show will cover contemporary sports news and offer game analysis and commentary, featuring two episodes each week and a dynamic lineup of co-hosts, including former NFL All-Pro wide receiver and NFL Christmas Gameday 2025 analyst Brandon Marshall, who is also a producer for the forthcoming series The White House with Michael Irvin.
