The underrated 2010 crime drama led by Collin Farrell is now on Netflix
Netflix is undoubtedly hitting home runs with its original productions in 2026. But that doesn’t mean it will stop anchoring existing classics to streaming visibility. However, if you still have doubts, you might have missed out on the latest drumroll arrival of the forgotten crime drama, London Boulevard, starring Collin Farrell.
That’s right! London Boulevard is now available on Netflix UK. The intense crime thriller was added to the platform on Saturday, March 21st, 2026.
Based on Ken Bruen’s 2011 novel of the same name, London Boulevard is written and directed by William Monahan in his directorial debut. The gripping crime fiction stars Farrell as Mitchell, an ex-con with a checkered past who plans to straighten his ways after release from prison.
Determined to escape and put an end to his criminal past, Mitchel initially relocates to a place provided by his friend, only to get dragged back into petty crimes, despite his otherwise good plans.
But still very much desperate to go straight, he finally accepts a job to act as a protector/handyman for a reclusive actor, Charlotte, in London. Although Charlotte and Mitchell seem worlds apart, they do have one thing in common: both are trying to hide from something. While Charlotte has been staying inside the mansion to avoid the paparazzi, Mitchell has been running away from his criminal past all along.
It’s important to note that London Boulevard didn’t exactly set the box office on fire upon release, but still, it has aged into a fascinating thriller for fans of noir and gritty London dramas. The film serves as a loose reimagining of the classic Sunset Boulevard; however, instead of a struggling writer and a silent film star, we have an ex-con and a traumatised modern starlet who explore similar themes of fame, isolation, and the impossibility of escaping one’s past.
From sharp dialogues to stylised visuals, London Boulevard feels like a high-end American noir transplanted into the rainy, grey streets of South London.
Even if the modern audience hasn’t heard of London Boulevard, they definitely know the cast by heart, featuring not only Farrell and Stephen Graham, but also Keira Knightley, Ray Winstone, David Thewlis, and Ben Chaplin, among others.
So, if you were unaware of its streaming availability or even the movie’s existence, London Boulevard is currently available on Netflix UK. Make it count!
